Making sure that no one loses out on educational opportunities due to coronavirus.
CTI is an organisation offering free tutoring to students who need it during the Coronavirus pandemic and beyond.
We have a phenomenally high demand for tutors, and are looking for any university students who have a spare hour in their week to volunteer to support a young person in their studies!
About the Coronavirus Tutoring Initiative
We’re 100% free
We have created this initiative as an offering for students and parents who might otherwise be unable to access tutoring. We think that’s equal opportunity.
For and by students
We’re powered by university students who volunteer their time to tutor a couple of hours per week. They have all been through comprehensive safeguarding training.
Collaborative
Thanks to partnerships with Bramble - an online classroom - and Adapt - a study planner - students and tutors will have a seamless experience studying together.

Why are we doing this
The Coronavirus Tutoring Initiative was created in March on the same day that the UK Government announced national school closures due to the coronavirus pandemic. Our aim was to help the students most affected by the closures, and now with schools beginning to open back up, it is more important than ever that we work to narrow the educational inequality gap.
We connect university students with young people who need free tutoring in any KS3, GCSE, or A-Level subject. Since we were founded, over 4000 incredible tutors have delivered over 20,000 hours of tutoring to over 1800 students! The team behind CTI has also expanded, and we currently have over 60 volunteers working behind the scenes to help CTI grow.

How it works
It's quite simple. We promise.2. Screening & Training
If you’re a student, we’ll do a quick screening to make sure we have the right tutor for you.
If you’re a tutor, we will double check that you’re eligible to join. If you are, we will send over our compulsory safeguarding training ✅
3. Start the lessons!
You can communicate simply via email or use your personal Bramble room, where you can speak with video, draw, add pictures and much more.
All Bramble sessions are recorded and stored - so you can go back and rewatch them.
